2018 Apple iPhone X Plus Details Revealed; will have the Same Size as iPhone 8 Plus
The Apple iPhone X launched last year featured a top-notch. Since it has seen widespread adoption among Android smartphone manufacturers, there have been rumors since November that the company will launch three new iPhones this year. All of them are speculated to ditch the Touch ID for Face ID. The latest reports from Japanese sources give more insight into these upcoming devices.
According to a report from Macotakra, which they claim is from a “reliable supplier information source,” the iPhone flagship will be named iPhone X Plus, features a 6.5-inch OLED display, and is the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus. The smartphone will be a bit thicker at 0.2 mm due to the “mounting form of the rear camera,” which pushes the device’s thickness to 7.7 mm. A bezel-less design on the iPhone X may come with the same traditional upper notch, which houses the infrared Face ID scanner.
The report further claims that the smaller version will have a 6-inch LCD panel, not a 6.1 inch. It will follow the same top-notch and minimum bezel look along with the Face ID feature. The third smartphone, which happens to be the smallest one, will sport a brighter lens and bigger sensor.
It also contains an update on the future of iOS 12 Face ID, which is said to also work in landscape mode, a step towards introducing it in the Apple iPad. Powerful batteries manufactured by nu Unimicron will back these smartphones. The iPhone X Plus will come with a 3,300 mAh battery, the biggest ever in an Apple smartphone. This will surely raise the bar among the flagship smartphones. The smartphones are speculated to launch in September, keeping in line with the company’s habit of launching a flagship at that time.
