Asus Zenfone 8, Zenfone 8 Pro and Zenfone 8 Mini will go Official on May 12
Asus is back with its flagship devices for the year 2021. Last year the Asus Zenfone 7 was an excellent value for money device and was a recommended Android device by many tech enthusiasts. Now Asus is planning to launch the Asus Zenfone 8 series of smartphone which will have three device if the reports and rumours are to be believed. They have already put up a poster on their official website with a countdown for the launch date. As per the countdown, it is confirmed that the launch event is happening on May 12th.
Asus is coming with a compact smartphone in the 8 series lineup and they will likely name it the Zenfone 8 mini. Besides the compact device, we will also a Zenfone 8 and a Zenfone 8 Pro. The poster on the official website reveals that we will see a compact device in terms of size, but not in terms of power. This will be the mini device and it reported to.be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship processor. Some other OEMs have gone with Snapdragon 870 for the vanilla smartphone and Snapdragon 888 for the Pro version. But Asus is going with the top of the line Snapdragon 888 chip for all three devices.
As for the rest of the specs, if the reports are to be believed then we will have a 5.9 inch mini device with a FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. As for the camera, there will be a revolving camera module with a 64MP primary sensor. Asus has maintained a single camera setup for both front and rear sides by using a rotating module since the Zenfone 6. It will stay the same with the Zenfone 8 too. The Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Pro will have specs similar to the mini device, but we will have bigger displays and batteries on these two other devices.
On May 12th we will have an online event where all these three models will be unveiled by Asus. It probably won’t be released for the market right away. And different countries will have different dates in terms of availability. But for people looking for a powerful compact Android device, the Zenfone 8 mini will be an ideal choice.
