HTC U12+ Colour Options and Other Details Surfaces Online Ahead of Launch
Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC will unveil the HTC U12+ flagship on May 23. As the date approaches, more details about the smartphone are being revealed. Reliable leaker Roland Quandt, on his Twitter handle @rquandt, said that the device would be available in the following color options: Black, Red Rose, Violet, and Translucent, which is a semi-transparent black introduced with its predecessor U11+.
As for the specs, the smartphone features a “Frameless display’ consisting of a 6-inch WQHD LCD and will be powered by the Qualcomm 845 chipset coupled with 64 GB internal storage. Roland Quandt also said a 64 GB internal storage with Dual SIM would be available in Europe. He mentions that it won’t be cheap, which makes us believe it will be priced in competition with flagships like the Samsung S9 series. As per the rumors, the smartphone will have a dual camera setup on the rear of 12 MP+ 12 MP or 12 MP+ 16 MP configuration and an 8 MP or 8 MP + 8 MP camera dual setup on the front. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo and be backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ support. The frame is expected to come with IP68-rated water protection.
For the pricing, it is speculated that the smartphone will cost around $734 – $768 (Rs 47,500- Rs 50,000 approx) for the 64 GB ROM variant, while the higher 128 GB ROM variant will cost somewhere between $801- $734 (Rs 47,500- Rs 52,000) in Europe. The smartphone will be released on June 1, one week after its official unveiling on May 23.
