iQOO 8 series set to launch in China on August 17; may include iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro
iQOO recently showcased its iQOO 8 smartphones at China Joy 2021 trade show. It will reportedly be the first device in the world to flaunt an E5 AMOLED display. After the showcase, the company has confirmed that they will officially debut the iQOO 8 series of smartphones in China via the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. The company will host a launch event in China on August 17th at 7:30 PM local Chinese timing.
Going through the leaks and rumours, the iQOO 8 series will reportedly include two devices; vanilla iQOO 8 and high-end iQOO 8 Pro. High-end Qualcomm flagship chipset, 160W highest wired charging support. E5 AMOLED Display will be the major highlight display of the iQOO 8 series of smartphones.
It is rumoured that they will feature the world’s first E5 AMOLED Display coming from the house of Samsung, it will be an LTPO Display which was previously seen on OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone. The LTPO Display can switch refresh rates between 1Hz to 120Hz. It will be much useful for saving the battery. It will come with a 2k resolution and 10-bit colour depth.
It has a centre punch-hole cutout in the front for the selfie camera. More rumoured specifications of one of the iQOO 8 lineup handsets include the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ flagship chipset. The Snapdragon 888+ is a slightly overclocked version of the normal Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. The device is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM and up to 4GB of virtual RAM support. It will boot up on OriginOS based on Android 11 out of the box. There won’t be any expandable storage option but will have up to 256GB of internal storage option.
The iQOO 8 series will reportedly feature the world’s fastest 160W wired charging. It will be the first device going to be available commercially shipping with 160W fast wired charging.
