MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset features
Leaks about the upcoming chipset have already surfaced on the internet. According to rumours, the Dimensity 8000 chipset will be based on TSMC’s 5nm node. Well, TSMC’s fabrication process is already thought to be more energy-efficient than Samsung’s! More information on the chipset can be found here. It is said to have 4X Cortex A78 cores clocked at 2.75GHz as primary performance cores and 4X Cortex A55 cores clocked at 2.00GHz for power efficiency.
The Mali-G510 MC6 GPU will handle graphics-related tasks. The Dimensity 8000 will support Full HD+ displays with refresh rates of up to 168Hz or Quad HD+ displays with refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The chipset may be capable of supporting up to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The chipset can support charging speeds of up to 75W. It is worth noting, however, that OEMs may add their own charging speed by using custom chips for charging.
