With the launch of its Dimensity series of 5G chipsets, MediaTek is presently leading the affordable 5G smartphone market. Dimensity chipsets are notable for their low-cost performance and compatibility with 5G networks. The MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset has been officially launched by MediaTek. It’s a new upper mid-range smartphone chipset with powerful performance.
Mediatek Dimensity 920 5G Processor
The company says that MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset is made for better camera performance and battery life. The Dimensity 920 5G chipset is built on TSMC’s 6nm fabrication technology, which is said to provide better performance while using less power. For performance, the Dimensity 920 5G offers 4X Arm Cortex-A78 clocked @ 2.5GHz and 4X Arm Cortex-A55 clocked @ 2.0GHz. It has an Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for gaming performance.
The chipset can support a display having a resolution of up to 2520 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 120Hz high refresh rate. It can support up to a 108MP single rear camera or a 20MP+20MP dual rear camera. It can record a 4K video at 30FPS. It comes with many camera-related features such as Hardware video HDR, 3X HDR-ISP, MFNR, 3DNR, AINR, Hardware Depth Engine, and Warping Engine. Up to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage are supported by the chipset. The Dimensity 920 5G supports up to a 5G network with 5G carrier aggregation for connectivity. It is compatible with Wi-Fi 6 (a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.2. The chip supports HyperEngine 3.0 with 5G call and data concurrency. In addition, HyperEngine 3.0 offers connection enhancements for high-speed rail and Super Hotspot technology.

Redmi Note 11 Pro and Note 11 Pro+ smartphones are now official in China. Both phones feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. These are the first smartphone to be powered by Mediatek Dimensity 920 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and support for VC liquid cooling technology.
Oppo Reno 7 smartphone is also on the way with a 6.5-inch FHD+ BOE 90Hz refresh rate display, Mediatek Dimensity 920 SoC, 4500mAh battery with 65W charger support, 50MP IMX766 primary camera, and 32MP IMX615 front camera.
