List of Smartphones Getting the Android 9 Pie Update

With new features and advanced control, Google launched the latest Android 9 Pie earlier this week. Like every other Android launch, the question arises of which smartphones will support the final version of the Google operating system. Some devices have already started receiving the “Android 9 Pie update,” while certain manufacturers have already confirmed the release of the Pie update for their respective devices. While we may know the list of the devices, we still lack a complete roadmap. So, the best we can do is speculate based on logical considerations.

Android 9 Pie Features

We will not take the time to explain  Android Pie’s features here. There is a new dashboard that shows how much time the user is spending on each app. There is more security and fewer data leaks with restrictions over microphones and other sensors for background apps. The AI features and features save a lot of time while controlling notifications and will give you options to remove pestering notifications. Other features include a rotation button, faster screenshots, and Bluetooth connections for up to five devices.

List of Smartphones Receiving Android 9 Pie Update

We can expect the Pixel series smartphones to receive the Pie update first as Google manufactures it.

The ushad registered for the Android 9 Pie beta have already received the update. As for the non-participants, they are expected to receive it soon without further delay.

The following smartphone from the company will receive the update.

Essential Inc

It is the second manufacturer that has released the Android 9 Pie update for its device on the day of its announcement. Like the Pixel phones, the beta-registered users will get the update first.

HMD Global is one of the few companies that doesn’t delay releasing the latest updates for its Nokia devices. Naturally, we can expect it to be one of the first smartphones to receive the Pie update. The following devices are stated to get the Android 9 Pie update.

Usually, smartphones running Android One will get the first Android P update, making it the first Nokia smartphone to get this update.

The Lenovo-owned company Motorola has several devices that will get the Android 9 Pie update. The first one to get will likely be the Moto Z3, with an estimated date of Q4 2018.

OnePlus smartphones have never disappointed us and always perform better than expected. But with this update, they will likely be a performance enhancement, especially with Android 9 Pie’s “adaptive battery’ feature. The timelines are expected as follows:

While Xiaomi isn’t a company known for providing timely updates, it confirmed a few flagship and mid-range smartphones to get the Pie update in the future. The first smartphone to get the update is likely to be the Mi Mix 2S, which was compatible with the new beta version of Android P.

The South Korean giant Samsung is expected to release the Android 9 Pie update for its S-series and A-series, most of which currently run Android Oreo.
