MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Benchmark Test: Antutu and Geekbench Scores
In the last post, we have seen the benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is the company’s new flagship chipset. It’s an intriguing chipset with many world firsts, including the world’s first 4nm-based chipset and the world’s first chipset to offer ARM’s most powerful ARM Cortex X2 primary core. The chipset’s on-paper specifications may blow your mind. It can even compete with Qualcomm’s recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Let’s look at the chipset’s benchmark scores to get an idea of its performance.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000 features and specifications
Let’s take a look at the features and specifications of the recently released MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. In terms of CPU performance, the chipset is powered by a 1+3+4 core configuration. The primary core is powered by ARM’s most powerful ARM Cortex X2 clocked at 3.05GHz; it is worth noting that it was the first chipset to be powered by the Cortex X2 core, followed by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It has 3x Cortex A710 clocked at 2.85GHz for the performance cores and 4x Cortex A510 clocked at 1.8GHz for the power efficiency cores. It also has 14MB of cache, which Mediatek claims improves performance by 7% and reduces bandwidth consumption by 25% when compared to 8MB of cache.
The graphics are handled by an ARM Mali G710 MC10 GPU. The chipset is constructed using TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process, which is thought to be more power-efficient than Samsung’s node. In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G mobile connectivity, WiFi 6E 2*2 and the most recent Bluetooth 5.3. It also works with the most recent LPRRD5x RAM. The new APU (AI Processing Unit) outperforms the previous generation by up to 4X and leads performance on ETHZ, an AI benchmark test. The company also claims that the Dimensity 9000 outperforms the latest Google Tensor chipset by 16 per cent.
What is the Antutu score of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset?
Coming down the Aututu score of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, it has scored a surprisingly amazing 1,007,396 points. Yes, it has managed to score above 1 million and it is just 2.6% lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The name or model number of the device on which the score was achieved is unknown yet. But the RAM configuration has been revealed. The device was having 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The score might fluctuate by a few margins, depending upon the device to device or OEM to OEM.
As per MediaTek, Dimensity 9000 has achieved overall 1017488 points on Antutu where CPU score is 256987, GPU score is 393810, MEM score is 186890, and UX score is 179801.
What is the Geekbench score of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset?
Geekbench scores have believed to be more accurate in comparison to the Antutu benchmark. But still, real-life performance can’t be judged on basis of this score. They can only give us an idea about the peak performance of the chipset or the device.
Well, going back to the point, the single-core and multi-score of the Geekbench have been shared by MediaTek. They claimed that Dimensity 9000 scores 4324 points on the multi-core test and 1237 points on the single-core test of the Geekbench. The company also claims that the chipset is as powerful as the Apple 15 Bionic. But looking at the multi-score of the Dimensity 9000, it’s hard to say so as A15 Bionic-powered iPhone 13 achieved 1730 Points (Single-core) and 4700 points (Multi-core).
What is the AI Benchmark score of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset?
As per the AI Benchmark database, the Dimensity 9000 beats flagship chipsets like Snapdragon 888, Google Tensor, Exynos 2100, Kirin 9000, and even other Dimensity SoCs. It has managed to achieve a score of 692.5 on the AI Benchmark test (4.2 times higher than the Snapdragon 888). In comparison, as per Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will score about 560.
