Motorola’s Two Budget Phones Capri 21 and Capri Plus 21 Coming Soon
Motorola is working on two new budget 4G phones for 2021. A few days ago, an unknown Motorola device with model XT2127-1/XT2127-2 spotted (via GSMArena) on FCC certification website that reveals some of its key details. Today its Plus version has also appeared on FCC website with model XT2129-2.
In a separate document, we see that XT2127-1 will be called “Motorola Capri 21” whereas XT2129-2 will be known as “Motorola Capri Plus 21”. These could be codenames as well, but the document (that we use to identify the actual device name) usually have the right information.Talking about specifications, GSMArena reported that Motorola XT2127-1/XT2127-2 (Motorola Capri 21) will have a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. Other features include HD+ panel with a waterdrop notch, Quad rear camera setup, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC. The RAM and storage will be 4GB and 64GB respectively.Motorola XT2129-2 (Motorola Capri Plus 21) Federal Communications Commission (FCC) listing confirms the presence of JK50 battery and MC-201/ MC-202/ MC-203/ MC-204/ MC-205 adapter (the last digit represent different regions). Separately, TUV Rheinland Japan certification of the battery and adapter reveals Motorola Capri Plus 21 will pack 5,000 mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging.
Recently, Tipster Abhishek Yadav has also spotted Capri Plus 21 (XT2129-3) on Geekbench v5 benchmarking platform. It reveals that Capri Plus 21 will be powered by Snapdragon 662 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. Also, it will run on latest Android 11 operating system.
At present, this is all the information we know so far about the upcoming Motorola Capri series. Since the certification process has started we believe both devices will launch in Q1 2021.
