Samsung Exynos 7872 Processor Gets Bluetooth Certified, May Power the Galaxy A3 2018

There is certain news about Samsung’s Exynos 7872 processor. The chipset is speculated to be crafted on the 14 nm design and will power Samsung’s entry-level phones.

The new Exynos 7872 was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website. The website revealed that the chipset got a Bluetooth 4.2 certification. The chipset could debut with the Galaxy A3 or the Galaxy A5 next year. The previous version, Galaxy A3 2017, is powered by the Exynos 7870. So, we can be almost sure the Exynos 7872 will replace it with the 2018 model. But this could also mean the  chipset will be present in the Galaxy J5 (2018) and the Galaxy J7 (2018)

According to previous rumors, the Exynos 7872 may have six cores – two Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores coupled with a Mali G71 for its Graphical Processing Unit.

Interestingly, another Samsung SoC was seen on the Bluetooth SIG website. The 7885 will also be a 14 nm chipset but will pack eight cores. The device will likely power the 2018 devices Galaxy A5 and Galaxy  A7.

The Galaxy “A” series 2018  smartphones are speculated to take design cues from the current Galaxy S8 Note, especially the infinity display. Samsung has also filed new design patents which resemble the A series smartphones.
