Sony H8521 Pro-A Spotted on GFXBench with Flagship Specs

Recently, the Sony H3212 Avenger smartphone was listed with dual cameras on the benchmarking website GFXBench, and today, a new Sony device with model number H8521 Pro-A has popped up on the same benchmarking website. Judging from its specs, the device will likely be Sony’s flagship.

The Sony H8521 Pro-A spec list reveals four display sizes: 5.7 inch (1930 x 1080 pixels), 7.4 inch (2560 x 1440 pixels), 10.0 inch (3360 x 1890 pixels) and 11.4 inch (3840 x 2160 pixels). An unknown octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset powers the smartphone, clocked at 2.6 GHz, and the Adreno 550 GPU. The chipset is speculated to be the successor of the Snapdragon 835  SoC. It offers 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

In the optics department, the Sony H8521 Pro-A sports an 18 MP sensor on the rear and a 12 MP sensor on the front. The specs show no dual camera setup on the back or front. There are camera modes like autofocus, face detection, and touch focus. The cameras have an LED flash and support 4k video recording.

The device runs on the new Android Oreo 8.1. Though there is no mention of a battery, it’s expected to be around 4,000 mAh. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. There are sensors like an accelerometer, barometer, digital compass, ambient light, gyroscope, and pedometer. The specs show that the device will likely have a full-screen bezel-less display and an advanced camera setup than the current Sony flagship devices. Sony has mentioned that the upcoming smartphones of the company will get a complete makeover in design. The device may also sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is yet to be announced.
