These Samsung Galaxy Devices will get Android 12L’s Taskbar Feature

Samsung is trying to improve its foldable software experience each year. And this year, Samsung has introduced Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The new Android 12L-based software brings some exclusive new features to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, such as the Samsung Android 12L taskbar feature. Samsung won’t just make this feature exclusive to the Z Fold 4. Instead, it would come to other Galaxy devices as well.

What is Android 12L?

Android 12L is a different version of Android that is supposed to work better on larger screens. Google claims that the software is better optimized to make use of the extra real estate of larger screens. This is done so as to improve the user experience and make multitasking on larger screens more intuitive than ever.

Samsung Android 12L Taskbar Feature

Android 12L features a new taskbar on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. This new taskbar allows users to pin their most used apps for quick access. It also shows two of your recently used apps.

The Android 12L Taskbar is designed to make it easier for users to access their apps and enjoy a new way of multitasking. With drag and drop to activate the split-screen mode and swipe up to return to the home screen, gestures make utilizing the taskbar even faster. The taskbar on the Samsung Fold 4 is more intelligent because it appears and vanishes based on usage.

Samsung Android 12L Taskbar Update Eligible Devices

As per the official information from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will receive the Android 12L update from September 5, including the new Android 12L taskbar feature. Samsung has not shared the rollout timeline for Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Fold.
