Vivo Announced Vivo X20 “FIFA World Cup Russia 2018” Special Edition

As an official FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Sponsor, Vivo reveals the special edition handset created for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. Thirty-two teams have been announced at the handover ceremony, which was held on 1 December at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. At that ceremony, Vivo announced the “Vivo X20 FIFA World Cup Russia 2018” special edition, which received much attention.

On behalf of Vivo, the tournament’s official smartphone sponsor, brand director Deng Li presented FIFA secretary-general Fatma Samoura with a new X20 smartphone during the handover ceremony for the FIFA Committee official smartphone.

The Vivo X20, Vivo’s flagship smartphone, was launched in China in September, and its customized edition adopts a simple and refined design. The image below shows the “FIFA World Cup Russia 2018” logo on the phone’s back.

Vivo X20 has a 6.01-inch screen size and a screen-to-body ratio of 85.3 percent. The phone has a Face Wake face recognition feature, which claims to unlock the device within 0.1 seconds. The phone also has a fingerprint scanner at the rear: the rear also sports dual cameras, each with a resolution of 12MP. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity. Also, X20’s built-in “Vivo Game Engine” significantly improves gameplay even for very demanding games.

Vivo signed a six-year deal with FIFA in May to sponsor the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments as part of its strategy to boost global exposure. Vivo X20 will be introduced to the Russian market in December 2017.
