Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo recently launched the world’s first smartphone with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. The company is rumored to be working on a smartphone named Vivo X30 with an iPhone X-like display with a top-notch. Now, a recently leaked photo on the Chinese media platform Weibo confirms it, and not only that, the smartphone appears to have almost a 100% screen-to-body ratio.
From the leaked image, the smartphone is strikingly similar to Xiaomi MI Mix 2 with its sharp corners. The lower bottom bezel is a tad bigger, which may carry the front camera sensor. Since the company has already perfected the fingerprint sensor under a display, it will not be surprising if the device sports the same. The earpiece is also likely embedded under the display.
There is no way to determine if the image is genuine or fake. It’s also too early to assume such a device is under work. But considering the tech needed, such a device is indeed possible from Vivo. It has been just weeks since the X20 launch, and there is still time for the perfection of its successor. If it’s true, the device may be launched towards the end of this year.
