Vivo Y83 with Massive 6.2-inch Notched Display Appears in TENAA
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo will launch one more smartphone with a notch this year. The smartphone is called Vivo Y83 and will be in the mid-range segment. Today, the device made an appearance on the Chinese regulatory website TENAA.
From the TENAA listing, the Vivo Y83 will feature a massive 6.2-inch display with a resolution of HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:9 because of the top-notch. An Octa-core chipset will power it, clocked at 2.0 GHz, likely a Snapdragon 625 or A MediaTek processor. It will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal space with an expandable storage option up to 128 GB with a microSD card.
In the optics department, the smartphone will sport a 13 MP sensor with LED Flash at the top left corner while offering an 8 MP sensor at the front for selfies and video calling. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and will be backed by a 3180 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VolTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and more.
The phone measures 155.21 x 75.24 x 7.7 mm and weighs 152 grams. The power button and volume rocker are both placed on the right side. Though the TENAA Images show the phone in black, the smartphone will also be available in a gold color variant. However, the phone is missing a fingerprint sensor, which is pretty common even on budget phones. These lacking will likely be covered by support for Face Unlocking. Recently, another mid-ranger Vivo Y75s, which appeared in TENAA, also missed out on a fingerprint sensor.
Currently, there is no other information regarding the price or availability of the device outside Chinese markets. The TENAA launch hints the smartphone will be launched in the upcoming week. We can expect an official announcement from the company soon.
