Xiaomi 6X Image Leaks Giving the First Look on Its Rear
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is gearing up for a new smartphone launch. The Xiaomi 6X will succeed last year’s Mi 5X, also known as Mi A1, which came with stock Android on board. An image of the new device showing its back panel was leaked on the Chinese media platform Weibo.
The leaked image shows the device featuring lines similar to its predecessor and a metallic body with an upper plastic band of antennas. The device, as expected, sports a dual camera setup on the rear but with some minor changes. This time, the dual cameras have been stacked vertically in the top left corner, similar to the Apple iPhone X setup. Between the camera sensors, a gap will likely hold the LED flash.
In the middle part of the rear panel is a hole where we guess the fingerprint sensor will be placed. The rear placement of the fingerprint sensor means the smartphone will be sporting a FullScreen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Mi A1 didn’t have an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is a considerable drawback compared to smartphones from the same segment, like the Honor 7X.
Other specs are unavailable now, but a photo of the TPU case was leaked online, showing a speaker grill at the bottom and a 3.5 mm jack. So we suggest you don’t throw your old 3.5 mm earphones away. According to the rumors, the Xiaomi 6X will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset and 6 GB of RAM.
We cannot say if the leaked image is fake or genuine, but comparing it with the previous model, it looks real. Also, it is the time the Mi A1 gets an upgrade. We can assume that the new Xiaomi Mi 6X will be launched in local and international markets since its predecessor did the same and was very successful overseas.
