Xiaomi Mi7 Wireless Charging Module Goes Trial Production

Xiaomi has joined the WPC( Wireless Power Consortium), a multinational technology consortium founded in 2008 for the mass adoption of Qi wireless technology. The lists boast top brands such as Samsung, LG, Sony, and Apple. Apple joined the WPC this February and launched the next iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X with wireless charging.

Xiaomi is the latest member. The company was spotted on a WPC member list on the WPC official website, which hints that the next Xiaomi Mi 7 is likely to be the first smartphone by the company to support wireless charging. According to the latest report, the wireless module of the Xiaomi Mi 7 has s already started trial production. Xiaomi has invested a lot in this wireless charging module, which shares the same wireless charging foundry with Apple.The Xiaomi Mi 7 is a flagship smartphone speculated to launch between March and April 2018. The device is expected to feature a 6-inch Samsung AMOLED that will adopt a Full-Screen design and have an 18:9 aspect ratio similar to the OnePlus 5T. The new Qualcomm 845 chipset will likely power the device and will be coupled with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM.
